And it's not even done yet. I'm currently working on adding options saving and controls options, as well as difficulty balancing and smarter power-up rewards for the 1.0.1 Patch Update, and in 1.1 I'm planning two more enemies, music made by me, and TONS of visual effects to this music ;)

SmileBASIC can not connect to online services through projects programmed with it. Connections with external sources are limited to local multiplayer.

This looks cool, but be careful if you plan on publishing it. Projects that violate copyright or use material belonging to someone else (in this case Mario belongs to Nintendo) often get taken down. Modifying the built in samples is a great way to get better at SmileBASIC though!

Oh sorry, I posted that apparently just as you made your post! I would have answered. I was asking Dalen. Yes the font was inspired by that of BIT. TRIP (I made POLYGON and I loved the BIT.TRIP games as well!) I guess you'd probably know though if you looked back to find the key to it :)

I think I've noticed that too. I'll add it to my 1.0.1 patch checklist :) Share your scores too! That's what the GAME OVER screen was made for :D

I don't think I had that problem before. Now I have noticed it though, while working on the 1.0.1 patch. When I added two new buttons I forgot to reload the sprite sheet, therefore I saved the text in the menu box which is supposed to be added later. I tracked it down pretty quick though :)

Oh, those were originally 24 x 24 pixel buttons. I didn't make them half sprites, it's just that since most of the default sprites follow a 16 x 16 pixel format, when you stopped the sprite sheet from loading it still made the sprites 24 x 24. In other words, a 16 and a half, so that sprite is just wide enough to cut into half of the coin sprite afterwards.

Also, I designed the GAME OVER screen in POLYGON with high-score posting specifically in mind! Share your best score for POLYGON (post the screen seen in my screenshot which appears at game over) in the comments below! The screen was designed to show FULL game stats - Rate, enabled enemies, and everything. (except Metacube at the moment!)

I think my personal best with all of the enemies enabled, power-ups on, and a spawn rate of default (20) was about 60 :)

Definitely! I also find screwing up the sample programs a great way to learn... in the original 'DOT RACER' game, I made the dots cause death too, made the speed have no limit, built the maze ENTIRELY out of dots, and even made the maze say 'YOU SUCK' XD
