What do you mean? You define the string however you want. STRING$ = "Hello World" Then use that string how Oscar showed.

You shouldn't really be using ACLS in loops. At least as far as I know, you should only clear what's needed. Usually CLS should cut it, sometimes GCLS.

Yep, but you do need $ regardless of STRICT. That only requires you to specify variables.
