I used Petit Computer prior to SmileBASIC's release, so I had next to no trouble starting my first game! However, I feel I may be doing this a bit inefficiently... I am attempting to make the title ease in and slam down, in a similar fashion to the way the title does in a Steam game called The Bastion... not sure what to do!
Introducing... PETIT WORLD 2!!! It's a sidescrolling building game, much like the game Terraria. (Credit to Pocky for Original Game) Please don't post hate comment saying I copied Pocky, I only made this so people you speak English can read what everything says. UPDATE SUGGESTIONS BELOW!!!
SmileBoom Co. Ltd. has announced that the app will be released on the Wii U in Japan during Spring 2016.
It will be backwards compatible with programs made in Petit Com. 3/SmileBASIC (now avail. on the 3DS in JPN/NA).
It will support Wii Remote and GamePad integration, as well as increased image/screen size limits to accommodate the GamePad and TV.
I am about to run out of battery, but here is a sneak peek at the first project I will be working on! [Or the sprites at least.] Do please understand it may take some time to complete Polygon because of the trigonometry it will require.
So I have a quick question about the Input command. From my understanding, the Input command is suppose to ask the question given and then wait for a response. However in the code in the screenshot provided, it seems to have decided to just continue the program before anyone has a chance to answer the question.
So does anyone know why this is and if there's a way to fix it?
Public Key [W3CY43HJ]
Thought I'd get my feet wet with a little minigame. Inspired by Dot Arcade on Wii U, this is an original game where you dodge the cliffs as you freefall.
my first program - a smilE button App! It haS a shorTcut to smilE tool and techdemo, and a useR-definEd program shortcut! the public key is in the screenshot! just make sure you assiGn this proGram to the smile button.
So...in petit computer mkII, you could load individual pages of sprites where needed, allowing you to manage your sprites. For instance, you could load all of your player sprites in page 1, your attack sprites in pg2, enemies in 3, etc, and change them as needed, without much delay.
Without directly telling me, can SmileBasic replicate this? I'm still learning, of course. LOAD"GRP4:"name",FALSE
just bought this app
Excited, but a bit apprehensive
i used to make original games and sprites n stuff back in junior high [like 10 years ago], but the coding was never my job.
still hopeful though, as im sure that at least some of these skills can transfer to future auduino projects
question
does the nub on the new 3ds not work with this game/app/whateveryouwouldclassifythisthingas
testing out all the capabilities [which is beyond awesome by the way] but this isnt working
What is the best way to create a main menu for a game? I want to make a small tech demo of the main menu from Super Smash Bros N64. Basically, just the title screen, menu options, and character select. I plan on creating all the sprites as well.
Okay, let me tell you that the WiiU version is going to be released in spring. Now we are able to use a normal keybord! Fantastic!
So. I'm going to move on to the main topic.
I have some questions for you in NA.
How do you use "TALK"?
Are you interested in computer RPGs?
So I reproduced the maze of Petit Computer website and changed a few little things. Don't know what values to change and how to change them to use the whole screen, but that'll do it for now I guess.
