More info will be released throughout development. ___ Regarding an EU release of the 3DS ver.: "To Petit Computer/SmileBASIC fans in Europe, As soon as we announced the release date of SmileBASIC we are getting lots of e-mails asking the release in European regions. We are considering the European release aggressively and will make an announcement once we made a decision."

@yan-sid: SmileBoom Co. Ltd. is a company based in Japan. Petit Com. 3 was released there awhile ago. It took time to localize it for NA. There is a possibility that the Wii U app could be released in NA/EU, however, no info has been provided. [Agentdave7]

Whats interesting is such a app is being developed for Wii U for a 2016 release, clearly Nintendo wont be wrapping up U so quickly as msny think. because why would developers bother.

I don't know if I should look into getting this one or the 3DS one. Does the 3DS one have 3D layers? I'm not great with coding, but it's fun to try out the tools and check out other people's games in the DS Petit Computer.

@Sertes: Games/apps are still being released on the Wii. Nintendo will release the NX whenever they decide. [Agentdave7]

@TDOG: Yes, 3D is supported. So is the use of some of the 3DS's features (gyro, mic, touchscreen, etc). The program is based on the BASIC coding language. The 3DS ver. is avail. now for NA. No info was given on when the Wii U ver. will be released for other regions. [Agentdave7]

@Elijah: It is an app that allows you to make programs/games on the 3DS (and eventually on Wii U). I encourage you to look at the eShop or on Nintendo's website for more info. [Agentdave7]

I got Petite Comp. (DSI virtual console) for my 3DS a while back. Geez it's hard to use. I'll hope this is easier. But, then again, I know next to nothing about programming. I got it hoping that I could learn something from it, but it only gives me a help manual to read through. I did learn a little, but it's most of it's not easy to remember. For me, anyway.

@Rayanne: The Petit Com. community has grown a lot since then. There are lots of fan sites now. The program is still based on BASIC though. [Agentdave7]

But i do think there's a big difference between releasing a app or piece of software for a console with a 101 million install base to one with just a ten million install base. If it's a something that costs money then the risk is higher.
