Good job! I've been wanting to make use of the talk function since MKII. You can display (print) English text while making the program talk in Japanese/letters, creating the illusion of it speaking in English.
Unless the Japanese creator gives their explicit consent, we'd better not touch their codes, and that includes translation. You don't need to know Japanese to control the game. Use the circle pad to navigate, A or B to fire, X to switch camera angles, Y to pause, and Up and Down to adjust depth.
I wish they would explain what commands were changed between MKII and the 3DS version. I just learned that we need to use MOD instead of % like in MKII, but I didn't recall reading about it in the manuals :-(
Unlike a Japanese kana which takes on only one or two sounds, an English letter may make many sounds. The "G"s sound differently in Girl, Gem, miraGe, touGh, eiGht, and hiccouGh. For this reason in the NA version TALK only reads out the letters (G-I-R-L) which isn't useful. I had to "cheat" by making the man speak in Japanese kana in my localization of GAME6TALK (74NXS3HJ) for example.
Writing codes is like building a car. You do it in the factory, or the EDIT mode. The DIRECT mode you're in now is the showroom where you RUN the car show. You don't want to build cars right in front of the customers. Go back to the factory to do so.
I got the 'easy' questions [the one you posted, a math question, and what system I'm using] so I earned more than what I was given. Now pay up! ›:C
Add 50/50 and phone-an-NPC [who's 50% correct] lifelines and it'll shape up to be the greatest game show that is WWTBAM.
Guys don't fret, I've done it! It's not a "direct" translation since that'd be BO-RING, so I added some of my own flavors and called it a "localization". Here you go! Key: 74NXS3HJ
For those of you who have no idea what the sample GAME6TALK does, fret not! I've localized it right here: [74NXS3HJ]. Special thanks to my -tasty- fox friend!
So it's basically a collection of games/programs made by fellow users (or contest winners) in PTC3, costs 300 yen and runs independently. Probably to showcase what PTC3 can do? Thanks nobu!
