E3 NEWS: V360Tech's "Really Great RPG 2" is now "Really Great Fidget Spinner Simulator". "I've decided to take a completely different direction," V360 says, "and the game is becoming better because of it."
(Fidget Spinner item added)
You could've just deleted the last two posts.
Also, try running the Menu function. That might be the problem. You run functions by putting their name in the code after they are defined.
You need:
*a microSD card at least as big as 4gb (comes with a kit, or buy it)
*hdmi (comes with a kit) or hdmi-to-whatever cord (Amazon basics is pretty good)
*microUSB charger (comes with a kit)
*usb keyboard and mouse (no mice with the weird circle port)
*some other computer and a USB microSD card reader (to download the os and stuff)
I don't know what I'm doing, so most likely it will be the same as RGRPG1 (text),just with item use, area-dependant enemies, and actual difficulty.
My RPG is basically what would happen if a complete newbie to SmileBASIC actually finished an RPG. It also contains ARG-like puzzles and stuff like that.
This sequel will parody a few parts of the SmileBASIC community, but will also have its own story.
RGRPG2 devlog: IT WORKS! Now I only have to make a battle engine (planning to reuse RGRPG1's engine) and a puzzle engine (just run a function for specific rooms)
That means I can start work on the actual game! Also, feel free to suggest areas, items, "enemys," and things!
RGRPG2 devlog: I have more good music, so I'm gonna make more maps & stuff. However, first I have to put the puzzle system in place. (and maybe fix this dialogue)
(I thought putting every event in the game into one array was a good idea)
More good news: I didn't delete the original and attempt to do a rewrite, then spiral into a deep depression while attempting to write the engine for a second time! (sunglasses emoji)
RGRPG2 update: I have returned from a hiatus with good & bad news!
Bad news: I got approximately 0 work done during late April and May, which means I'm goint to delay my game.
The good news is I have returned to developing RGRPG2! Also, I'm listening to some awesome music, so my productivity will be amplified!
More bad news: the event engine was badly designed, so I have to rewrite it a bit.
