After doing some math in my geography class, I have created a function to calculate the angle of reflected light (off of smooth surfaces). I will hopefully find some use for this soon, but here's a fun lil' demo (though collision is off, so it goes through some things).

I'm actually incredibly close to finishing it. All I have to do is: Make businesses function Make citizens have sprites and locations and that's pretty much it! Though the whole business thing will probably be hard, making citizen sprites should be easy, maybe a 5-15 minute job (hopefully not longer) Maybe if it takes me forever to start the businesses, I'll have a closed beta though.

For some reason, instead of adding more features, I keep making Home more visually appealing. If you can't tell from the few screenshots I've posted, now color change is gradual instead of instant. The sun is still rising, but not that much.

I wouldn't use SPROT for this, I'd probably do SPANIM. As well, I'd probably recommend just doing SPOFS instead of SPLINK because SPLINK is horrible if you want to expand the code any further than swinging.

I'm not going to tell you exactly because I think you'd learn better if I told you how to do it rather than giving you how to do it. First, you are going to want the origin (home) of the sprite to be where you want it to swing (8,16 is generally good for a sword). Then you need to move the sword to the location where the character would be holding it (hand). Then animate the sword to rotate.

See, the problem is that it WORKS to set the string array to a number. No error is thrown. And then when I add to an uninitialized variable, it's not that as an error. It gives me a type mismatch (How?) I can try initializing it, but it may not work for that reason.

Not yet, it's not quite done yet. However, once I implement citizens (which is probably the hardest part of all of this), I'll finally release it. It's called Home.

Not exactly Ep17. There's a large difference between porting a game to the DS and emulating a game on the 3DS. If you port a game, it's designed to run on that console. if you emulate the system, you're having to run through another layer to get directly to the code. So while Majora's Mask 3D exists, you couldn't emulate the N64 to run Majora's Mask on the 3DS.

Yes, this is Home. I need just a little more work until it's done, but knowing me I'll split the 30 minutes that I probably need to finish it into many segments: 2 minutes tonight, 3 minutes tomorrow, 4 minutes on Friday, and 21 minutes on the weekend. But I'll try to finish it today before I get distracted. Probably won't though.

Yeah, a lot of them are pretty off, but I can't seem to think of a way to make them not be floaty without making them cast on the object itself : / Maybe I'll play with it a bit more.

This is actually pretty nice. The only thing that I'd recommend is that when you get a question wrong, it shows you the correct answer or something like that so that it's easier to learn with it instead of just simply studying the tutorial page.

Well, it's proportionate to the angle of the sun and is correct according to the size of the other shadows. All the shadows are kind of big at the hour that this screenshot was taken.

Oh my gosh! I added the sound effects and it sounds AMAZING! I have to thank you, I probably wouldn't have thought of doing it without you suggesting it. Also yeah, the night SFX are really creepy. With how Home is structured, it could make sense to have something in the night, but it may not, idk. I'll think about it more.

Yup! I made a new function that makes shadows without a base sprite so that it works for BG tiles with a sprite equivalent. And that's a good idea, bag the music for sound effects...
