RPG Demo 4.1: The first spicy bug-fix update! Changelog: fixed issues pertaining to minimaps (size, actually working...), Pause and Setting menus are now centered, fixed GPAGE issues causing both screens to be the same, added Play hints during loading times, word wrapping works better now, probably more I forgot.

Well, I've been taking some time and putting it into my sub-project. It's basically block-coding. It's going well, but we'll see how it handles the "coding" part of block coding. And moving the blocks into allignment...

UGHHH!!! I was so close to a breakthrough in minimap technology, but no, because the standard map size? 64x64... Why won't BGSCALE work for more than 3600 tiles - less than the map editor lets you create??

So which would you prefer: option 1: every time you open up the pause menu, it loads the minimap, or option 2: when you load a map it sets up the minimap? It takes about 30 seconds, so keep that in mind. It may decrease, but right now I need to move on.

Now that the general code for the map is almost complete (just need it to show you), now for the fun part: optimizing it and making it pretty. Especially optimizing. I mean, who wants to wait 20 seconds to open the pause menu?

How's this for a minimap? Way too detailed, and takes a while to load, but man it's beautiful. The NPCs aren't too detailed though...

So quick question, especially towards anyone who should be on the ESRB: should I have slight gore (AKA an axe turning bloody when it hits an enemy, not that bad) on as default or off?

Over 2000 lines of code in The Axe!!! *fireworks set off in the air Actually a fair amount are just empty lines... But hey, it's ok. Whitespace makes it more readable.

I should probably tell the king. RPG Log 17 (right?): Added more story and a new area (though you can't leave it yet.) Also added a new cutscene function to have an NPC copy your movements. Not the most groundbreaking stuff thogh, but the story's getting good.

Is there a way to get the length of a SPECIFIC DIMENSION in an array? So like LEN(hi,1) or whatever it is (I'm 99% sure it's not that).

Hmm, my name isn't José! Saving and loading going well, only one problem: I need a system to save arrays on the same file! Perhaps have syntax like ARR INVENTORY[1]=160 or something. But now I have to make it know this...

Stop, in the name of logic! RPG Log 16: Well thanks to a delay until Sunday, A lot has been happening. Specifically pausing. Should be fully done soon. Also now there are 3 files. Hopefully you won't need more. Saving/loading will also be done soon. Pretty nice, I'd say.
