How's this for a minimap? Way too detailed, and takes a while to load, but man it's beautiful. The NPCs aren't too detailed though...

The detail is nice, but isn't it large for a mini-map?

Well It's TECHNICALLY a full map. It's in the pause menu, so it takes up the top screen while the menu is now on the bottom.
