Accidentally forgot to save this at first. Right now these new options don't do anything, but the color options now save and don't reset when you open this menu! I'm also making a save file 'OPTIONS.DAT' containing the options.
Also, I designed the GAME OVER screen in POLYGON with high-score posting specifically in mind! Share your best score for POLYGON (post the screen seen in my screenshot which appears at game over) in the comments below! The screen was designed to show FULL game stats - Rate, enabled enemies, and everything. (except Metacube at the moment!)
Finally! After over half a year of development, POLYGON Version 1.0 is pretty stable and complete now! I have published it too, should be available soon. The only bug I couldn't fix is on the title screen menu - the large buttons' collision is off. Anyways, feel free to download POLYGON 1.0!
Yikes thats quite a few Hoppers! These enemies in POLYGON used to cause a tricky bug that made enemies stop moving at times. I thought it would be hard to track down but I solved it fairly easily. It was associated with the jumping ability of the enemy.
A little effect given for the JUMP Power-Up in POLYGON. One more powerup after this and a tiny bit of tweaking and bug fixing and then it's out! Hopefully this weekend :)
And POLYGON's Version 1.0 General Options screen is complete! Saving these might come in the future. Next is the last planned feature for this version, the MetaCube powerup!
Most of the gameplay is complete! In this screenshot, only two of six possible enemies are present. Should I add the MetaCube powerup before releasing this, or should it be included in an update?
This is getting somewhere... :D Also, I managed to shrink the program file size by like 100 lines by changing the way menus are handled, now there's just ONE control loop that does it all and only goes to other initialization routines!
I successfully wrote the color inersion function! The only issue is, it has a brief delay. I don't think there's a way to fix it... No, I'm not using WAIT or VSYNC.
Ok, NOW I've restored the menu box I forgot to save. I'll be writing a color-inversion program to replace the inverted-button sprites. Finally, development can REALLY continue! Sorry for taking so long!
Doing some work on Polygon's menu box again, looking good so far I think. In the end it will be scaled by 2 in the program, to save sprite sheet space. What are your thoughts on this design?
Currently adding some more sprites to the sheet :) So far there's a new 'retry' and 'main menu' button, and the submenu (game over, confirmation, custom spawn, etc.) box is in progress.
Sorry for not posting updates for Polygon in a while, development has been kind of slow with school and stuff :/ Anyways I finished planning out all of the necessary characters and sprites, so I just need to create them and then main game work can get done! :)
