Go to DIRECT mode, type MML, and press the question mark button on the top-right corner of the lower screen. Read through that; it will explain all of the MML commands. After that, you can directly play MML with BGMPLAY "MML string" or use BGMSET to save a song to play later.

Starting work on some of the basic menus - thinking about it, being able to add a channel before you create a project doesn't make sense :P I feel like there are a lot of ways I can improve the code, but I guess practice makes perfect!

Besides, both have their downsides. Not swiping makes it so once you tap a note, you have to stop touching the screen then tap again to change the key played. Swiping makes it difficult to play only one note. Overall, yes, I think I'll just make it an option.

I've definitely experienced that problem while using my program here. It still will be very easy to make that an option though.

Yeah, thinking about it I agree. Swiping makes it easier to get to the exact note you want, but not swiping lessens the chance it'll veer off to another note. Each key is only 8 pixels tall after all. Alright, that's what I'll do. I was having trouble thinking of what to put in the SETTINGS menu anyway :P

Should I make this so that swiping across the piano keys plays every note you swipe over, or should I leave it so the only note that plays is the first one you tap until you release it?

You didn't catch that? The orange yoshi on the right is YouTuber TJ "Henry" Yoshi, the guy who, on one of Pannenkoek's videos, said "An A press is an A press. You can't say it's only a half." And this inspired a kind of meme around TJ.

Whew! After like an hour or so of replacing the text in the sprite sheet, my GTXT function in BitByte MML is completely useless! Which means next to remove is the function itself :P As I expected, there aren't any graphical glitches with the text anymore because it's all drawn with GPUTCHR.

I tried using many shades of white to make some curves look more smooth. I haven't used it before though and only referenced a circle which used the same technique so it's not the best; but this will work. Of course if a user were to want to change the font all they'd need to do is load BITDEFFONT.GRP into the SmileTool!

Don't try convincing me that you used any FRACTION of an A press - an A press is an A press. You can't say it's only a half. :P

Which will both lessen graphical glitches caused by the slower speed of my function AND make BitByte MML's interface look much nicer!

Alright, thinking about it, restarting BitByte MML will be unnecessary. I'll just fix what I don't like. Also, I joined SmileBASIC Source by the same username. This here is the first thing I'm changing - I realized I was forgetting about the command GPUTCHR, which renders my text-drawing function useless! I designed a smoothish font that will be drawn with that command instead.

I guess there's no point in trying to warn anyone but it seems crazy pro is just going to needlessly delete any reply put in here. Which kind of defeats the purpose of a discussion, but oh well.

Jacob, a key is a usually 8-10 character code which you enter in the publish/download projects menu of SmileBASIC to download other people's projects if they are published online.

Your goal is to avoid being hit by any shape. Try to survive as long as you can! Each moves or behaves in some different way. Picking up the red, green, and blue cube-shaped item that appears occasionally gives you powers that can help you out.

ЩMr.Mo14, what problems are you experiencing? On the game over screen just choose a button, the blue arrow one restarts, the gear goes to the game options screen, and the yellow list takes you to the main menu. Use the cursor for the controls (by default)

Yeah, in the options menu you can change the control style and which screen you play on too. I'm kind of considering joining SmileBASIC Source but I haven't yet. I noticed you can pass some sort of extra data to collision detection so for POLYGON's "Musical Update" I'll see what I can do to improve the game.

On YouTube, there's a channel called PetitProfessor3D, he helped me learn some of the new things that were introduced to SmileBASIC. Check him out too!
