This is simplified mode7 algorithm. The reason why I put a prefix "simplified" is that yaw angle is fixed, and this thing allows us to apply EX8TECHDEMO-DEMO-sprite demo1 to this algorithm. Like you mentioned, to use graphic commands is easier and more exact geometrically, and is slower instead.
