Many universities have lesson slide decks available for viewing online if you are interested in more good slideshows.

when a sublevel is loaded it has a list of resources that it needs. Ex: We need the player, goomba and buzzy beetles, so following Akeem's GCOPY method we load the player sprites into an unused page and copy the relevant ones to the sprite page, load the first enemy sheet and copy the goomba block to the sprite page, and load the second enemy sheet and copy the BBs to the sprite page.

Entire separate sheets can get huge. If your levels have some amount of sprite reuse, you should group sprites by association, maybe arranging them in commonly-sized blocks on each sheet. Using a mario example, one file might have the animation set for goombas, koopas, red koopas, and koopa paratroopas, and another contains buzzy beetles, spineys, lakitu, and hammer brothers.

nintendo doesn't permit random software with shared user-generated content to access the camera for obvious concerns. there is online sharing in smilebasic, it doesn't matter whether you can put it on miiverse or not, I think.

two corrections to htv04's posts:
the japanese program database and wiki is at wiki.hosiken.jp, not 'hosten'
and data mining does not refer to cracking and finding information, but to pattern analysis in large data sets.
it's only used as a 'softer' term for reverse engineering and because journalists are idiots.

SimEon: Swype uses dictionaries and some fancier letter prediction (many gestures will not land exactly on the intended letter) to work the way it does. It's harder to implement than it might seem...
raimondz: Ah, I forgot about other keyboard layouts. Well, either way is fine. The combination modifier might still work better for generalized multilingual input support.

Is there a reason the N with breve is a specific key? If you want to allow typing accented characters and other diacritics I'd suggest a "combine" modifier key. It would probably require a hardcoded table for the transformations, but the idea is that e.g.
[Com] + ' + a : inserts á
[Com] + ^ + e : inserts ê
If that's not what you intended then never mind this I guess.

Finnish 12Me21!?
that aside: Please have fun with SmileBASIC! It's not the nicest language and the documentation and western support might be lacking, but it's still really satisfying to have made something for the handheld, and a lot easier to get into than other environments.

re:♪Person♪D© re: raimondz re: title screens
For the OSP contest we discussed an easy and interesting technique for title screens: the demo or "attract" mode.
Here, part of the game engine is played in the background of the title, e.g., a shooter's first stage and providing automatic control. For the contest it was suggested that a fractal viewer could draw a sample fractal on the menu screens.

violating intellectual property law. Perhaps you want a game only similar in concept to Minish Cap. This I doubt, as your wording and particular use of "Minish Cap" indicate you want essentially that, and not simply "a game similar to Legend of Zelda." Even if this is the case, the above still applies. If you want a game like that, learn SmileBASIC and make it yourself. It is the only way.

Besides the amount of work and time that cloning a game like that requires (i.e., so excessively that your asking can only be interpreted as either incredibly selfish or just dumb) and that no one should ever consider a Miiverse follow to have value, SmileBoom (the developers and operators of SmileBASIC and the distribution server) have to honor copyright law and take down any submissions possibly
