I'm going to take some liberties with this contest. Use this as you will.

The sword was forged to combat an armor that 'they' were having trouble to defeat. At the expense of one turn of combat, change the type of damage this weapon deals. (fire/ice ranged/meelee)
Bonus armor class
Phaseshifter.
Enemy armor. Used to combat waves of certain enemies. Switches defense type like swrd
If this is not turn based have an enemy type that switches color every 'x' seconds and have the player as is only be able to attack one color.
Make this sword the answer to those enemies by always being the color the enemy is weak to.
Alpha Centurian Blade.
You could have a type of Enemy named Centurians, and there Leader be a Alpha Centurian, wich drops his weapon, The Alpha Centurian Blade. Plus, in a Star Trek Geek and the first human conlinized planet in that Series is Called Alpha Centuri.
