looks like a tube for a race game to me, back in late 80 through 90 we used vector graphics to represent an 3D environment but it not true 3d, just an illusion.

look up vector graphics to better understand how it works.

I still need to look into vectors. I still don't have the best understanding of them and their uses.

Yeah, I believe Elite used vectots back in the day. Amazing how clever and ingenious these guys were with basic technology. Check it out! "Elite Dangerous" is it's predecessor.
