It is an interpreter so that you can write your own programs in BASIC which is a programming language. So make your own games and play those put up by other people.

At the same time it is helpful that it is consistent between all programs.

In the future try to make it a little longer and if possible try and leave hints about the correct path to take in your story telling otherwise it's just a guessing game.

Ah I hadn't considered that. Well hopefully you'll be able to get a hold of it in the future. Good choice on saving for Fatal Frame, it looks exciting.

Also to add to my last post BASIC is a simple, easy to understand language even if it's not the most powerful or efficient.

You'll need to learn BASIC through the in-game tutorials as well as some outside study but 10 dollars is too much? Even if you only got it to download and play other people's games it would be worthwhile for that price.
