I think the switch looks pretty cool, but I'm worried how it'll affect the 3ds and anything that would follow it, and if it would affect game design at all. The handheld games were defined as a more "pick up put down" kind of gameplay and that makes me worry about a portable console
I think it was said that no more info until next year to preserve the 3ds's lifespan. I hate that a lot of 3ds games are not full length games. For instance, Mario Galaxy gave you a feeling of: I need to beat this, whereas Mario 3d land even invites you to stop playing it. Galaxy was meant to be played for longer periods of time, 3D land wasn't. I do understand hardware constraints,
but console-esque games would've been cool too. The Switch is, presumably, a portable wii u. It can play Wii u quality games, and I don't think that developers are going to change how they tackle game design. 1) Great Music (What is that song?)
2) Great Overall reveal
3) Everything else
Disappointments:
1)No wii motion controls
2)No smash announced
3)Nvidia Tegra 4 processor (not really a negative, as it is possible of playing Skyrim)
