I have an Announcement. I currently am working on a translation of a japanese version of Super Mario Maker. I will try to translate what most of the stuff does. I couldn't have done this without Snookems and I give ALL credit to him! Thanks Snookems!

So there is a 3DS Japanese version of Super Mario Maker created with SmileBASIC? If so, what's the key?

I have no idea. Actually, Snookems shared a download code for a key for an "unpack" version. What it does is it downloads the data and then deletes the unpack version. Then you can play the game. The reason they did this is because the game is so BIG that you can't publish it! I've just been trying to translate the title, loading screens, and such. But some stuff I have no idea of what it says!

I've also been changing sprites to look like Mario stuff. Some things REALLY need to be changed. The thing that drops spiky shells (no idea what its name is.) is a bird that poops! The thwomp is just a giant weight that says "100t". A koopa-troopa is a cat! in the screenshot provided, I can show you what I mean.

The original game is called ゆうしゃの冒険EDIT+ (マリオ風ゲーム). It can be found on the japanese smilebasic wiki.(Search on google "wiki hosiken petc3gou"). I already made a mod of that game with custom music, font and skin selector, but I won't upload it because copyrights. Currently, the game is in V3 but it still has some bugs.

You shouldn't publish anything with Mario assets, or any other kind of copyrighted assets for that matter. This is why the game originally used its own assets. However, people have been changing the original sprites with no consideration of this issue. This is okay, as long as it isn't published. Do NOT publish copyrighted assets, or you may get publishing-related penalties.

Also, you shouldn't attempt to translate the game without first consulting the original creator. Maybe he wants to do his own translation, after all. Also, if you don't really know Japanese or if you are going to use a translation application, I'd suggest not trying to translate the program. After all, this work is usually left to the pros for a reason.
