Can an absolute beginner learn how to code using this? like, even the basics, or do i need prior knowledge before playing?! Thanks.

You can learn from this, but you'd be better off learning code in Scratch at scratch.mit.edu

You can follow the tutorials on Smilebasic. Also, you should see the program ex1 to ex4 to learn the basic. Also, you can ask help to the community regarding the smilebasic library or other stuffs.

Scratch is too O.O.P. for me. I'd start by learning Batch if I were you.

There's an e-manual for the game that teaches the very basics of this program. Aside from that most learning comes from experimenting with code on your own, reading other people's programs and understanding how they work, and asking the community right here. If you're looking for a full fledged tutorial on coding, I hear KhanAcademy.org has a fairly good introduction to programming course.
