That's sounds great! Can we utilise the full resources of the 3DS or are we stuck in a limited sandbox? So, are you guys planning on doing coding competitions?
They're limited, but not by too much. Most notable things that you cant use that the 3DS generally supports are play coins, streetpass, and online features. But you can even use the microphone. Shouldn't be too much absent.
As BASIC interpreters on game consoles go, this is pretty much the best I've ever used. It's been tuned toward game making, with built-in art tools and functions that let you use 3D, touch screen, gyro, accelerometer, and the mic. Some of the features take a little learning, but they're there for the adventurous.
I wonder, can handle 3D games like DOOM? That would be a fun project to port. Albeit, it would run much slower than compiled code, but it would be a nice POC.
@Devon I was thinking porting the engine (If it doesn't infringe copyright) and loading my purchased game assets from the SD Card. You would still need to purchase the game to use it.
