Sure it's a big ask, but why not update some high defenition graphics in SmileBASIC? [I used a random screenshot just so I can post this.] Especially for the sprites, because this game can be much better than it is now!

How do you mean that? Btw the screen resolutions are only 420x320 - top, 400x320 bottom screen. (smth around dat)

I meant can you [or SmileBoom] use HDMI graphics, rather than 16-bit graphics?

Sure they could, but this fits the style of the font.. Also it´s HD instead of HDMI, it means High Definition Media Interface, thats a standard for digital Media cables ;)

3DS is 400x240 upper, 320x240 lower (don't know the color depth for sure.) HD display would look horrendous if you downscaled it to that resolution. The SB system itself is capable of any sort of graphics as long as it's within RGBA5551 color and 512x512 pixels.

It doesn't. It's still 400x240. The term HD refers to a display resolution of at least 1280x720 pixels (720p). Good looking doesn't equal high-definition.

The upper display is actually 800x240, but that's only for the 3D so it can draw two images. The display hardware draws 2D images to the screen at 400x240 but renders polygonal graphics at 800x240 in 3d mode, which is why 3d looks a bit better
