i cant believe im doing this. dookie all over walmart, id be able to afford more stoarge if they hadn't have stole $18.25 off of my brand new card. Those freaks scammed me!
im not doing that... my computer doesnt even have a byte left. i screwed up when choosing the partition size. i didnt even notice it was only 55GB.
Raycaster is a maze game with monsters and whatever. its on the very top of the list on the smilebasic pubs site, titled "Spooky Dungeon" or "Spooky Maze"
and its an SDHC card--but that has nothing to do with it. Don't you guys understand? Petit Computer has a VIRTUAL disk limit, it isn't actually running out of space at all. thats why it only says files and projects are to be deleted.
No, that's not the issue. The 3ds can only accept up to a maximum card size. However, SB files are pretty small. I have a 16GB card and I have yet to run out.
Thats my point though--16 GB already wasted, but plenty of space left for stuff like games and youtube? because all versions of PTC use storage spaces or some form of virtual disk that limits the amount of content for PTC specifically--which is why this version has upgrades to make up for it, or gold, to be precise.
That's not even what gold is for. Gold gives you more upload space on the server. SB doesn't have a specific storage limit. Get the correct info before you start making conspiracies.
Have you ever thought that maybe your other digital downloads take up more of the space? A properly formatted SDHC card can only accept up to 32GB on the 3DS.
so you see, its small because its only about 2-4 MB worth of room, which is only about as big as 1-4 floppy disks. but you ran out of your so-called '16 Gigs' when really it was there the whole time, because it doesn't just use up space dynamically acolloated, and grow to flood the drive, but instead... IT. IS. LIMITED. I HAVE SEVERAL GIGS LEFT ON MY CARD, NO ITS NOT THE PROBLEM.
You're mistaken.
SB has access to about 8MiB of RAM MEMORY. The storage capacity on the SD card is NOT LIMITED, the only place where storage capacity is limited is on the UPLOAD SERVER. Let me paint a picture.
A single GRP is 512KiB. This means it takes 8 GRPs to equal 4MiB. I have far more than 8 GRPs on my system, so if what you're saying is true, I must be out of space? I'm not.
look...
it said for the server it adds an EXTRA 90 SLOTS for folder capacity. AND increases MAX. DISK SPACE to 20 MB.
And dont you think that if i was wrong it would say something like get a new card or delete games off the 3ds? and gold wouldnt exist then? and theres other stuff to prove it too. Imagine it like a VM. infact, sb IS a VM, and this is another simularity to one.
My extra data section for SmileBASIC is listed at 1578 blocks. Extra data is where save data is kept, so if you convert that to MiB, my save data is around 197MiB worth of SB files. You have a problem, not the system.
EDIT: ok, i get it, but again, it doesnt take up all my space but it says it does, think about it.
dont believe me? fine...
I dare you to look through the entire thing, try to flood SB with as many files as you can, and when its full, check how much room there is left outside of SB. is there enough left for a download? evidence! big evidence!
I'm not going to do that because a single SB file can only be at most 8MiB, and that would be a huge waste of my time trying to fill 16GB. The fact that I can fit 197MiB without Gold is enough to prove you wrong, sorry.
Even if SB has a forced storage cap somewhere, it's not incredibly small like you're suggesting. Either you've downloaded way too many SB files and you don't know it or there's a problem with your SD card.
and no i dont have a problem. i never said it had a problem. and WHAAAAAATTT in the world gives you the idea i said it was entirely small? i get that thing i said about it being only about 1-4 disks, but i meant THE NORMAL AMOUNT. WHEN U DONT HAVE GOLD.
You really don't seem to know what you're saying. Alex is right. SB has no forced limits for local storage, only for online. Gold has absolutely nothing to do with local storage. If you are really sure that you're SD card has free space, you may need to format it again (in a PC) in case there are corrupt blocks in it.
Conclusion:
Ok, look...
I get it. Nothing is wrong w/ my card so no that wont help. But yes it IS fairly large actually, if I ever did have the thought otherwise, it's probably because PTC is a twisted version of DOS, and back in the day even one MB was considered huge because they werent as advanced. The largest HDD they had then was just 2 GB, so that kinda leaves an impression on SB.
And I admit: I downloaded tons of garbage, and I actually WAS aware. Lately I've been more conservative (anything important was backed up, the rest deleted). Things seem to be fine now.
