Maybe your not saving it right. How to save 1. Go into direct mode 2. Type 'Save "(name of save here" and then your project is saved to the active project folder. :D

How to get into sprite sheet 1.Press 'create programs with smilebasic 2.Click on green 'smile' button 3.Click on 'paint' button And your there! :D
