I finished making a little game to get the hang of the basics but now I want to make a new game. I appreciate any suggestions.

A few rules 1:no big games 2:only original game ideas

things i have not seen onSB: (easy category) an infinite runner game a good platformer (intermediate) a shooting based game (tho mine will be in this category) boss battles. (easy) rpg (lol jk) (expert level) 3d 1st person shooter-good graphics.

For an infinite runner, you mean something like flappy bird, right?

mentioning flappy bird was probably a bad idea, so, you mean something like The Impossible Game?

Probably something like Geometry Dash or a fast-paced platformer.

no, an infinite runner is like a platformer but it keeps going faster, like jumping over objects or dodging, to see how long you can go for. examples: temple run: geometry dash:ninja runner. there fairly simple, just a random amount of different sections

What about a 2d retro combat game?

This is harder than I thought it would be. I can't figure out why this dosen't load a map that i made.

actually loading maps are a bit more, nothing hard though here ill get a screenshot. also.. lol! i dident know there was two PChickens..

Also you need to SCSAVE in the map tool. MAP files are only to be used by the map tool, and SCSAVE converts those into a BGLOADable format.

@Jacob, i'm not an expert at coding (i don't even know how to use that kind of code), but if the map was made by J.P. then it won't work on your 3DS. But i barely know anything about BASIC so you should probably trust PChicken and J.P.

@Jacob, Actually, i think i see the problem. You should add a space behind BGSCREEN and get rid of wait 60. (note, if you are just asking a simple yes or no question i will yeah the post to say yes)

@king I think the space behind the bgscreen was a little accident, and the wait 60 shouldn't do anything except pause the program for a second

Also, I put the name of a map that i made, so that shouldn't be the problem either.

Ok, I thought this would be it, but now it says that the file that i'm loading cannot be found

you changed both 1st and 2nd one, only change the 1st, if that dosent work then just make a new map with easyer name and try that.

if this is to advanced sorry, but ever heard of a game called empire total war? i think somebody should make a 2d version on here (dont do it if youll get copyrighted)

@j.p. I think i'll just do something simpler instead of making a map.

@[affc].d.i 1: that sounds like a big game 2: if i managed to make it, it would get taken down for copyright reasons. If you want it made by someone, then you would probably want to ask Simeon. he's basicly a pro at programming.

What game you should make depends on your skill level. If you are just starting out then an old-fashioned retro arcade game would be pretty simple. If you are good at programming I guess you can make pretty much whatever you want.

The fake PChicken is that Randy guy who tried to convince everyone that SmileBASIC was worse than petit computer. He was convinced that people actually cared about him not porting his game to SmileBASIC.

The real PChicken came first. Obviously not the guy copying his Username. Heck, look in his user description, he says that his name is Randy. He isn't fooling anyone.
