Isti - yeah, just the lack of tutorials, I emailed the developers a couple of years ago because the ad made a big song-and-dance about the so-called tutorials, but all I see is a web page telling me to "read the manual" for that! Seriously disappointed about that... I remember very little Basic and really wanted to start again...

From the home menu, tap Publish/Download Projects, then tap Download (Receive) using Public Key I only listed a few popular apps, there is a huge selection of apps on the smilebasicsource website.

Also, to be fair, the way they advertise it on their website and also in the description itself makes it sound like it's going to teach you everything you need to know, but it actually doesn't do that at all...

yes thats wrong, they actually just deliver the programm. but basic itself is an old language, so there exist a ton of tutorials. for smilebasic i recommend the tutorials by petite professor 3D on youtube.

also, look for basic commands lists in the internet, very useful. if you start from the scratch and get bored, skip tutorials to graphics (grafic commands start with a g in smallbasic) make you sure to catch up if you missed basics of course

Lol! The worst part is my memory sucks big time... I'm on a lot of meds which mess up my short-term memory, but I don't let it stop me from trying! XD

Just some thoughts... I bought this software yesterday. I wondered if it would be worth it but already fell in love. The very amount of games created by the community is overwhelming. The limitations of this software are its strength. They require a different approach than coding in high-level languages. It is like back to childhood, first programming attempts on Zx Spectrum...

That's why I've wanted it for so long, the memories of my younger years sat using Spectrums and the dreaded Commodores! The main reason I feel so let down is that I remember very little BASIC, the developers website and the description make out that it directly teaches you BASIC, but that just isn't true in any sense! I will admit it's a good app, but after waiting for such a long time for it...

to be released in the EU only to find that it doesn't teach a single thing as promised is a massive let down in my opinion. Don't get me wrong! It's a great app with a lot of potential, but they shouldn't be making out that it contains lessons when it really doesn't, I contacted the developers a couple of years ago asking about an EU version for that very purpose, the reply wasn't encouraging....

Yep, You are 100% right. Luckily they embeded a help system, where You can read about every command (with short examples). Besides, You can do what we all did back in the days - study someone's code, analyse, modify, implement...

XD Also, you said there's 3 communities, but I can only find 2, but when I actually search smileBASIC or a combination of smile/BASIC I only find one... Please can you help me find the 3rd? \(^-^)/

The Japanese community is called "Petit computer 3 Community", since this goes by a different name there.

There's actually 4 One if them is Petit BIG though We have the US community, EU community, JP community, and JP BIG community You can find them in my favorite communities list
