Here's to hoping the long awaited sequel of Petit Computer becomes as great as its predecessor!
(I hope Minecraft PTC doesn't take forever to become a reality in SmileBASIC)
I agree with you on that QR code idea and backwards compatibility. Petit Computer is no longer available on the eShop, so all of the old projects are completely dead.
The QR codes were a mixed bag for me. I liked them...but at the same time...100+ codes sometimes! D: I'm sure people will attempt to port over their old projects to SB anyway.
I remember hearing that the syntax of some commands were changed, so that may be a deal breaker for a few ports. I'm sure plenty of dedicated fans will do it for the creators if the creators themselves don't.
I think I might try to port Revenge of the Crazy Baby, but only if I can get the code into SmileBASIC via one of the transfer programs. I'm not about to retype the whole thing from scratch! I figure if I get the code in, it would only be a matter of making some adjustments and updating any commands that give me a syntax error or don't work properly.
The biggest reason I'm looking forward to a new version of Minecraft PTC is because the original, after years of programming it on the side, it still ran around 4-6 fps. With the running speed confirmed to be over 28 times faster, and sprite resizing being integrated into the language, it could look better and run faster.
