I don't think it's copyrighted, and even if it is, It's a free game, and this version wouldn't really compete anyway (because no multiplayer), so it *should* be fine.
a small change in graphics and title is an easy fix. its what they did with the mario maker thing. you dont even have to make that big of a change. i can help if you want. if the shapes are sprites im an artist. i can make changes to help you. just send me the grps
First off, every object is drawn using pure graphics functions, not sprites.
Secondly, changing its looks doesn't make it break any less copyright. Copyright is something that protects someone's intellectual property, and something that encourages originality. It shouldn't be seen as some sort of barrier or evil law.
I'm remaking it as a sort of self challenge, no way I'm actually releasing it.
actually if you fear leagal trouble dont because any game you create in Smilebasic is writen in a modified Basic langage not Java python or in this caese htmil meaning you would have to copy the code line for line and convert it to Basic- (witch is not possible)-for it to be copyrighted not to mention any and all and your games this
long storie short its not your idea but its your code
You should read some copyright laws before trying to talk about them. It doesn't matter what language it was in or what language am I translating it into. The game itself, its concept, is copyrighted.
And copyright is why i won't make a Fnaf fangame. The really reALLY GOOD ONE was copyright infringed a while ago. So, i'm gonna do a completely original game, featuring my own original characters. (Btw it looks spot-on to the real game. Good job!)
