Raycasting is about the only thing you can do on smilebasic because any “real” 3D engine wouldn't run fast enough. For those who don't know raycasting isn't technically 3D because all the program is looking for is images on a 2d plane and placing them on the screen according to the distance from the player.

Why is the girl talking saying her own name. Literally she is just saying ”daichi” her own name exept its typed in kanji instead of katakana like it is above the character icon. Unless they both have the same name kinda, but daichi isn't the type of foreign name to be written in katakana. I'm already confused from that little bit of dialogue.

If your map is big then try to limit the distance the rays go.

sprite direction with the circle pad

This is the math to find the direction a sprite goes depending on the angle. xx=cos(angle*pi()/180) yy=sin(angle*pi()/180) What I need to know is how to find the angle depending on the direction(the complete opposite). I'v tried flipping the formula around with no luck. Can anybody help?
