Top screen, where all the action is. Visible are the players ship, the sights to the ships B weapon, and a mine. The ship's direction is changed with the control pad. The [A] button fires a traditional infinite volley shot while the [B] button destroys anything under the sights, which can be moved with the circle pad. The [R] and [L] buttons control speed and holding the [Y] button shields.
