They purposely use their IPs to sell their hardware, that's why big N has no real competition. No one else can claim/do that. Games with greatest appeal go to the slowest selling console.3rd party games make a small portion of their income (% wise) in comparison. + using old tech in new ways: those are a powerful combination to build a business. They're in no real danger.
