When I was a kid I saw a game on the app store called "Petit Computer". I purchased the app because I thought it would be fun to "make games". After a year or so of figuring out new commands my friend showed me SmileBASIC. You can probably guess what happened from there.
i had wanted to learn coding for a long time, then i saw scientist puting really cool screenshots of his games, I then looked into the community and i loved it and still do. i got sb and i still have no idea how to do most things..! but i know enough to make a fairly good game (i think)
lol, but PChicken and hanzo helped me a lot
I used to use petit computer a while back and I loved knowing that I could create almost anything I wanted! I have gotten to know most of the easy commands since petit computer and it just transferred to SB. I'm learning new things every day :-D
April 2014.
I were thinking of what I should buy from the eShop.
I saw the title "Petit Computer". At first I dismissed it as a dumb educational game.
Later, I found the Petit Computer wiki and saw all the cool stuff there.
You know what happened next.
I learned the language slowly by screwing around with the commands and asking how some stuff worked on the forums.
My first BASIC language was QBASIC for DOS (I swear I'm only 16.. I'm not that old)... Then I took a step backwards towards GWBASIC...
Then came Petit Computer on the DSi... Made a shell called DSi DOS which was fun. Had its own FS and bytecode and everything
I found out that SmileBASIC was coming out...
*Cue absolute joy*
Got it the moment it came out and fell in love from there.
I started with PC when I was 10 (2 years ago), and I learned a bunch of stuff from there but then a few months ago I randomly put in "SmileBoom" In the e-shop and it came up with, you guessed it. After, I got it.and I already knew a lot of the stuff that I had learned from PC.
