What I did was Google "how to make a calculator in basic." And recreated a very very simple calculator. After that I searched YouTube and found Petit Professor. He has tutorials on menus and making sprites walk. Sadly it will only teach you the basics, and he is definitely not the best code writer, but it gets you started down a good path to learning the fundamentals.
read the loooong instruction manual, then do some testing, then start something. ask for help on miiverse, look at other older posts for help... USE THE FORCE LUKE... lol jk, tho a force game would be cool...
