UGGGH and I'm working on a survival horror game called Pathogen.

I think a bit of blood is fine, just don't overdo it. NRogue has a little bit of blood.

I suggest playing/watching a play through of a game called Eversion. It does horror pretty well in my opinion, while still staying colorful and any gore isn't any worse than Spelunky

Your welcome. And besides, if necessary it could be possible to replace blood with a "byproduct" of the pathogen. Maybe it wouldn't be the same, but it could have the same effect

Second that, maybe just make the blood green? I know that changes the mood/atmosphere but it's better than no game.
