So in my game I have a map that you walk around in and if you wait a chest appears. I wanna know how to place the chest bg tile and change it when you get the items. ps I already know bgget

You can put BG tile with BGPUT. You can set 864(closed chest) or 865(opened chest) as the last argument of BGPUT.
