@Jet
What? No need to compare, your artwork is cute as it is and I like to think that everyone's art is ever improving. So if there are some attributes you don't like now, you should know that it's always getting better.
I also envy that you can draw on Comic Workshop, my skills with that game aren't exactly the best x'D
@Markus
Thank you~
I really love how older anime looked so I used it as inspiration > v <
(also, should I call you Markus from now on or the name I usually call you < v > ?)
@Alysa
Thank you xD
@Caleb
thanks
@Rage
Thanks, and I get what you mean. Actually, I've just discovered him recently, but I haven't seen any of his videos! I heard he's a more serious game player than Markiplier
, though. I first saw him in a KickthePJ video collab.
@crazypro
got any recommendations? I haven't started looking through his channel yet.
@Dejanea
actually, not all of this picture is pixel art
ò v ó )b only some of it is! and Thank you~
Yeah it shows. Older anime has such a nice vibe to it.
Feel free to call me Markus lol. I'm still deciding on my male name but this works for now. Thanks for the consideration!
@Valkyrie
first of all, nice name! That was the name of my first OC, you know~
secondly, I am FAR from perfect. I'm a perfectionist but my work has flaws all over the place, I just try to not make them very noticeable. I just practiced a lot to get where I am today, and i have to practice a lot more to improve for the future.
Thanks Madison!
Do you know the game Pics Limited? It's a drawing game where you can choose to draw pixel art or something close to regular digital art and it's really fun and easy to use~
(it's easier to make pixel art on SB though, so I'm glad PicsLimited also exists)
The saddest problem with Smile Basic, though (artistically) is that it heavily relies on Miiverse for people to see it. There's no exporting to the SD card function (since it's meant for programming) so once miiverse ends, there's almost no way for people to see screenshots of either your art or of a game you made..
Unlike the actual drawing games provided to the 3DS and WiiU.
If you want, I can find the Key and bring it back to you, I think there's a user who often shows a whole list of games people can draw on.
Europe just got there community recently, so I think you can find it quickest there.
@Madison
//not so secretly, that's how I've been going about things too//
I wanted to learn, but I only got past a fraction of "Hello World" before I didn't know what else to do.
Doesn't it? But most of all, I'm upset that Nintendo FINALLY gave the Europe community a go, but not before saying "Hey, just to let you know, Miiverse is shutting down. So if you want to learn how to use it, make-
things yourself, or actually figure out what other countries have made, you only have a little over two months to do it."
Meanwhile the US and Japanese AND Japanese version for the WiiU have long been available.
but yeah, don't feel bad if you never get to actually learning the coding part, you're definitely not alone.
oh, thanks for the key. i would love to learn coding, mabye i'll figure it out this winter to fight boredom when it's -15 outside, idk. but then again, how am i supposed to make a game when i can't even make a sprite move! I think you made a good choice when you decided to do art instead because your really good at it!
All I know is that it codes in Basic. And that SmileBasicSource is where people look if they need help or want to share Smile Basic stuff, which won't be affected by Miiverse's closing.
And thank you! As for the sprite work, while I haven't made an "official sprite" (I just made a character sheet) I suggest studying sprite sheets online first, since it might help you get the feel before-
@Madison
Whenever you get a drawing game, you'll just know once you start playing it. I don't have an answer since yours is probably differently set up than mine. I can draw there, but I choose not to since it's inconvenient for me.
