Well, I guess it's time to announce this! City Trail for SmileBASIC! You can download the pre-alpha right now! Thanks to the recent SmileBASIC update which added built in support for 3D models, I figured now was my chance to create a sequel to my favorite game! Download code is [7K3KXXDS]! Features will include: 99 totally unique and HUGE cities 256 stadium events three all new patches that increase your Luck, Corruption, and Grand Dad stats thousands of new stars (perfectly balanced of course) Will run at 180 FPS versus the originally predicted 120! Obviously, this Pre-Alpha is far from finished, but it still has some key features!

It already contains three dimensional movement, a city (It's there, just isn't rendered yet), and the ability to collect patches! Oh, and the amazing City Trial theme, of course! Use the D-pad to turn, and A to "jump". (Just a place holder for flying!) Your X, Y, and Z positions will be printed on screen, as well as the three dimensional location data telling you what type of ground you are...

I know this game will be good. Also, with bug fixes, add more too it. I checked the code, and there wasn't much.

Hold on, I think I know the problem. The has some gyroscope related features (Working on motion controls!) that aren't quite finished yet. Try holding your 3DS upside down, that should fix it. I have a strange habit of programming upside down, so I didn't realize holding the 3DS right side up would cause these bugs! (So much for being a good game tester...) So, until I can release the update...

This should fix most of your issues. Besides bug fixes though, I've also added a visual start so you know which direction you're headed, as well as an enemy player that follows you around. I have a bar graph showing how many Top Speeds you've collected, which is more akin to the original game. Enjoy!

Tried it, but i still had problems, if there is background, there wasn't any. the red guy disappeared, and all those things still caused it to break.

Well... There is one other thing you can try. Run the game, then exit with either START or SELECT. Go to the computer (The Create Programs with SmileBASIC button) and type "RUN" like you normally would to run a program, except instead of tapping enter or pressing a to execute the command, press and *hold* either START or SELECT. Keep holding it until you get a warning screen about activating...

debug mode. You can probably just ignore the warning, I... I'm sure it will work fine. I'm thinking some of the debug features may help improve the game's stability a little bit, although it may *also* cause some different unexpected behavior. Hopefully if the Top Speeds overflow again it at least won't crash, but that shouldn't happen. Debug mode enables a few fail saves, anyways, so hopefully...

Sorry, but I couldn't resist doing something for April Fool's! Trust me, if it was possible, I'd love to make a spiritual successor to City Trial, but SmileBASIC just isn't powerful enough. We're just gonna have to wait for Nintendo to make a sequel... Any minute now. One day... *sigh*
