you will have to find out of game reading materials; smileboom has a few tourtorials/pdf to get started, that said basic is pretty... basic, though not too practical these days
Well, SmileBASIC is a VERY easy-to-learn language at that, compared to most other programming languages, like C++. This was made to be very easy to program with.
Unfortunately, I do not have SmileBASIC, but I know a number of other programming languages under my belt.

think on how to plan your desire
-you must print something on your screen(button,top,whichever,or both)
(so your purpose is to learn those coomands to do so)
--you want to use the system's buttons,the touchscreen,etc...
the system's others features such as the gyroscope,3d effect,etc...
(so infect yourself to look for those specific coomands)
so start with simple commands
-like print text on screen
then you want to move that text around
--or make it float around by itself
up to you
you want to memorize
you want to learn
you want to try it out
--this are what must drive you
inject them
i learn by applying
write stuff up(of what ive been told to do,use)
i have to rely on checking others programs codes.
the very simplest ones and see what they do
