Is there a way to have two GRP's display at the same time, on the same screen, with one over lapping the other so that the transparent colors on one let the the second GRP to be seen?

There's only one graphic screen so you can't display more than one GRP on the same "screen". But load one image to the background screen (GRP5) and load your other image to the sprite screen (GRP4) and that might work.
