ok (thanks to PChicken) i got the background to move... but the sprite dosent stay in the middle, he still moves around, and goes faster than the BG screen, so he will go out of the screen, so just how would i make him stay in the middle of the screen?
also, how do you make it so when you touch a certain square (like the floor in the pic) that the sprite wont pass right through it?
i really need a code that lets me walk around the map, like keep the sprite in the middle of the screen and move background making it look like the sprite is moving around the map.
please help

What do i need to change to get the map in my game and what code would i use for so the BG moves when you move your sprite,(or atleast giving the look of moving a sprite)
Also does anyone have a code for a health bar and/or a weapon, (maybe a gun), that shoots when i press y. (or a)
i know that was a lot, but once i get those (and possibly an ai) i can really start on my game..

ok so im working on a game called Stick Warfare (name will most likely change) so basically its a game where you control a stickman and battle enemys and stuff, so its a 2d game, in the game there will be guns you can pick up hidden over the map, lets say if you break a wooden crate, there would be special items you could get by doing that.
i need help making gravity, so the sprite will fall to the bottem of the screen instead of just staying like this, also if somebody also has a good jumping code that would be nice too (B= jump, or even up on dpad would work too)
and one last thing, how can you tell a BG piece from an object in map. (if that was a dumd question, it was because some looked the same.

theres only one thing that the instruction manual dosent really explain, what all the buttons on here do, (and on animation/sprites/sound)
so if anyone can think of a way to tell me that i would understand, like
top row:1 2 3:hi.
1 is blah blah blah
2 is blah blah blah
and so on...
or just tell me in a way i will understand...
ok so i fixed the problem with the sprite being pulled left out of the screen, (line 9-12 had 0.1, so i changed it to 0.0, and now im not pulled anywhere) also up and down on the Dpad were switched, so i fixed that too.

so this is how you would make a... game map... so if i create a map, and somehow make a charicter that i can control, then... would that be just that i can walk around, or do i have to do something to the game, like adding a title screen...? what would happen?
oh and if so where would the character spawn?
