Can anyone lend me some keys to good Mode 7 engines? Im trying to make a kart racer similar to Super Mario Kart, yet I need a mode 7 engine that can render map data.
It's because of 2 reasons. One reason was that it felt way too outdated. I learned how sprite movement works, collision, and other stuff. Second is because I was forcing myself to work on Adventures of Stickman. I soon realized if I didn't enjoy coding or playing the game, what's the point of continuing?
Without thinking, I let it overwrite the file. So when I loaded STICK the next day, I saw it was ALL GONE. So I had to start from the beginning and do everything again.
When I was working on another side project that was in that same folder, I went to the DIRECT mode and typed SAVE "STICK" which was the file name for Adventures of Stickman.
Adventures of Stickman Beta Version 1 is coming tomorrow! Im releasing it tomorrow because it's my birthday. The beta will be from the beginning to the first boss, Swarmis (actual boss fight might not be in beta version 1)
For the game I am making, I want to make a save feature. Is there a way to store variables in a save file and then read and write to them as if they were in the main program itself?
