Getting a file onto SB shouldn't be much of a problem if you use PetitModem (an auxillary file transfer system available on the website "rei.to").

UPDATE: Sorry that I haven't been responding for a while. I have been working on making an engine for 3D platform games using this pseudo-3D engine, and have even turned it in for a school assignment! It can be downloaded using the key seen in this post's screenshot.

Store the "relative" sprite's relative X and Y locstion coordinate values as variables (or in an array for several of such objects) and add them to the coordinates of the object that is being followed when performing SPOFS.

I think I've gotten the perspective math figured out, but I'm not sure how to use SPOFS Z to make a flat-looking 3D ground.

Rendering pixel by pixel every frame is very impractical for any kind of computer, so I made every horizontal row of pixels of the ground display a sprite, each of which are cropped from the sprite sheet and scaled using a 3D perspective equation.

Working on a MODE7-style 3D engine. Rotation of the ground does not work because it runs on SPSET, but it runs very smoothly.

Perhaps all I need to know for scaling is the ideal distance between the player and the screen, in pixels. As for SPOFS Z, it seems to follow an exponential function of some kind.

3D scaling

Is there an entirely accurate equation yielding a sprite's SPOFS Z value and SPSCALE relative to its theoretical Z-location in a 3D space, as perceived by the player, with the system's titular 3D feature enabled?
