Hi. im making a console application. i made an if statment and said one of the variables were true. i said if variable==true then cls. it wont clear. please help quickly

i want to save a DAT file, but when the program is on the SAVE "DAT:SEL",SELECT it says that there is an error, somewhere on the first line is DIM SELECT so it should work. i may sound dumb, but i really don't know why it won't save
