Do people live on the floating rocks? That makes water a pricey commodity. Could be a part of contention for the society she lives in. High taxes to import water causing civil unrest. But the reason why people want to live there is because it's safer than the ground. Super grey situation with no defined answer.

When I was in Alaska, there was this one morning where the sky was oddly reddish-pink. It was the most beautiful morning I have ever seen. Might have been due to volcanic activity, or something.
